Mayor Rilling, Senator Duff, and the Norwalk Housing Authority Invite the Community to the Ribbon Cutting of the Colonial Village Learning Center Community Garden and a Tour of Newly Renovated Apartments
What: Join the Norwalk Housing Authority, Mayor Rilling, Senator Duff and Suzanne Piacentini, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Field Office Director for the unveiling of the Colonial Village Learning Center Community Garden. This Garden serves to teach K-5 students about various aspects of gardening, including the importance of patience, the benefits of growing healthy food, and the value of teamwork. After the ribbon cutting, the Norwalk Housing Authority invites the community to view a sample unit of its recently renovated apartments to see the exciting improvements that have been made on behalf of the Colonial Village community. The Norwalk Housing Authority is halfway through the phased gut renovations of all 200 apartments as part of its efforts to improve the lives and living conditions of the families they serve.
