Family Self-Sufficiency

The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program provides participating families with case managementsupportive services and an escrow savings account to help them make progress toward economic independence and self-sufficiency.

BENEFITS OF THE FSS PROGRAM:

  1. Case Management/Coaching
  2. Escrow Account

Case Management:

While participating in the FSS Program, you will work closely with an FSS Coordinator who will support you with setting and achieving employment and asset-building goals, connecting to supportive services in the community, developing skills and much more!

Escrow Account:

As your income from work increases, NHA deposits the difference between your original rent and the increased rent into an escrow savings account on your behalf. When you successfully complete the FSS Program, you will receive the accrued funds in your escrow account, plus interest! You may use these funds for things like car repairs, debt reduction or down payment toward the purchase of a home.
